Carinthia's in-house research and development department carriers out the necessary lab - and cold chamber tests for any new developments. The main component of all the Carinthia products is the G-Loft fibre, which is produced in their Seeboden headquarters.

The Carinthia MIG (Medium Insulation Garment) is proving to be one of our favourite and most popular outdoor jackets. Available in both OD (Olive Drab) and Black, the jacket provides almost un-paralleled performance in cold/wet weather conditions. The jacket is both light and easily stored away (it compresses to a faction of its size). The efficient insulation layer provides perfect protection against wind and cold and the Gore Tex WINDSTOPPER-material not only protects you from the wind and water - In combination with the G-Loft insulation material, it keeps you warm and dry, as moisture can escape quickly. Even if the jacket is completely soaked it still retains up to 85% of its warmth performance.

The TROPEN bag is perfect for the UK climate, though when combined with the Defence 4 bag, it provides un-paralleled cold weather performance.

The TROPEN is a light-weight sleeping bag with an extremely small packing size and minimum weight. Its remarkable feature is its vapour permeability which is very important for hot and humid tropical nights. The Shelltrans shell fits loosely over the inner structure and provides an extra layer of insulation with no cold seams.

This construction ensures reserve warmth for cool, foggy nights. In warmer weather the bottom part of the two-way zipper can be opened for ventilation. The hood is equipped with a mosquito net which can be folded out of the flap if required (it is in the front part of the bag and stored behind the flap with press studs.) The bag provides excellent performance from 5 C to -12 C.

The DEFENCE 4 is the most popular and best-selling all-round sleeping bag with excellent weight to stuff size and performance ratio. It is a well-established, three-season sleeping bag that has proven to be 100% reliable on cold nights both in the wilderness and in snow caves. A protection flap on the outer side of the zipper keeps out wind and wetness. The outer shell is a super-light, highly resistant, microfibre nylon with a fine micro porous coating which makes it waterproof. There is a generous draft tube on the inside of the zipper to prevent heat loss at the zipper. The DEFENCE 4 provides excellent performance from -15 C to -38 C.
